Despite a promising start, Everton was unable to capitalize on their early opportunities. Thierno Barry's headed effort from Iliman Ndiaye's cross drifted wide, and James Garner's long-range free kick was saved by Bernd Leno.

Everton's pressure eventually paid off in the first half, when Idrissa Gueye scored after a goalmouth scramble. The team emerged with renewed intent in the second half, and continued to push for a second goal.

Fulham substitute Rodrigo Muniz came close to scoring, but his shot was saved by Pickford. The Cottagers struggled to build on that opportunity, and Everton regained control of the game.

The hosts eventually put the result beyond doubt when Michael Keane scored his second goal of the season with a header. The victory marked a successful return to winning ways for Everton, and gave them a boost heading into the international break.

David Moyes celebrated his 20th Premier League victory over Fulham, a team he has recorded the most wins against in the league. Fulham, meanwhile, suffered their fifth consecutive away defeat.
