Sancho, 25, has been a breath of fresh air for the Blues, scoring a goal and dishing out three assists in his last three games across all competitions. But Maresca is keeping his eyes firmly on the present, not the future.
He told journalist Ben Jacobs, 'The only thing we've told Jadon, and all our offensive players, is that we need more goals and assists. So, Jadon's been doing better, but we need more from Nico (Jackson), Cole (Palmer), Noni (Madueke), Pedro (Neto), and Enzo (Fernandes) too.'
When asked about Sancho's future, Maresca was clear: 'It's the same for Andrey Santos. Right now, I'm not thinking about next year or who might be here. I'm just focused on getting the best out of them to finish this season strongly.'
On Santos, Maresca added, 'We know Andrey's doing well. Right now, we're just thinking about how to finish this season. Then, we'll start thinking about next season.'
Chelsea has an obligation to buy Sancho from Man United for around £25 million, but there's a reported £5 million escape clause.
