Xhaka was pleased with his personal achievement but acknowledged that his team could have secured all three points.
"It's great to score my first goal for the team," Xhaka said.
"I'm happy to be here and I'm giving my best every day, in every game.
"It's unfortunate we didn't get the win, but I'm happy to contribute to the team's efforts.
"Scoring close to the start of the second half gave us momentum, but we were unable to capitalize on it.
"We're a mix of emotions, but we take the point and move forward with it."
