The transfer fee is reportedly £79 million, with £69 million paid upfront and £10 million in performance-related add-ons. Ekitike had a successful season with Frankfurt, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists in all competitions, earning him a spot in the Bundesliga Team of the Season.
Liverpool had considered signing other players, including Newcastle's Alexander Isak, but were unable to secure a deal. Instead, they turned their attention to Ekitike, who had previously played for Paris Saint-Germain on loan before joining Frankfurt permanently in 2024.
Ekitike has not yet been capped at the senior level for France, but has played five times for the Under-21 team. He will join a refreshed Liverpool squad, which has also signed Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez, as well as goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
