Ferdinand, a former Manchester United player, believes Gyokeres may struggle to find his footing in the Premier League. He thinks the player may not get as many chances to score.
In a recent podcast, Ferdinand said: "I don't think he's the right player for the Premier League. I've watched him closely and I don't think he'll get the opportunity to score regularly."
Ferdinand also questioned whether Gyokeres has the skills to succeed in the Premier League. He asked: "Is there enough to him, after he's matched physically, to get him a goal?"
Gyokeres has scored almost 100 goals for Sporting CP over the past two seasons, but Ferdinand remains unconvinced.
