In a recent press conference, Moyes acknowledged that the club does not have the funds to pursue McTominay, who is reportedly valued at £60m.
"We're not at that level yet," Moyes said, "but we're working towards it." He emphasized the need for the club to build itself back up after recent challenges.
Moyes has expressed a desire to bring in top talent, but notes that January is not typically a great window for signings.
Despite this, Moyes remains optimistic about the club's prospects, citing the new stadium and recent success in staying up in the league as positive steps forward.
The club will face a challenge in the upcoming month as they will lose Iliman Ndiaye to the Africa Cup of Nations.
