In his post-match comments, Foden acknowledged Haaland's ability to find space and time on the field, saying, "We know he's got that quality to time his runs to perfection and always be in the right position."
Foden also noted that Haaland remains focused and able to score even when marked by opponents, and that he only needs one chance to score.
"He remained very patient and as you can see he's always there for us at the right times," Foden said. "This is a sign of a world-class striker."
Foden also discussed the team's performance, stating that they struggled to find space in the first half and took too long to make decisions on the ball.
However, the team improved in the second half, breaking lines and creating more scoring opportunities.
Foden also reflected on his own relationship with Haaland, saying that he's improving their connection on the field.
"I think I'm improving my relationship with Erling," Foden said. "I think I played a lot of good passes in behind today. Maybe he could have finished a few, but every time I pass it he seems to miss unfortunately!"
Foden emphasized that he's working on finding Haaland in behind and in positions where he can score goals.
